One day Yash came home tired from work! He was so tired that he was having one thought after another that, "is this the life? Waking up in the morning, getting ready, going to work, coming in the evening and then sleeping after having dinner?"
"What if I would be living isolated from all these false responsibilities! Where only I would be there! No one else! Nobody would be there to judge me, no responsibilities, just a small house, a river and flowing water in the river, chirping of birds and just nature!".
You would also be having problems in your life and you could also fail from life. There could be any reason like, "reason of relationship, reason of your business, reason of your job, reason of your parents, reason of your family, reason of not having faith in yourself, reason of fear or without any reason!".
And this is the indication of depression.
Whenever you feel like being a failure, remember my words written over here.
No company in the world guarantees you but I am guaranteeing you that my words will definitely save you from depression. You will never have suicidal thoughts in your life.
You will always see the world differently.
You will always feel happiness even in sad situations!
Did you become curious to know how you can experience happiness even in sad situations?! How?
That's the reality! Let me explain!
Whatever I'm trying to explain here, you will only understand it when you will read all of these words being neutral and by forgetting all of your opinions you have for myself!
Your knowledge (not information, knowledge) depends on your acceptance of it.
E.g. suppose I give you logical evidence of God's existence but if you are only believing in documented evidence, you will never believe in God's existence based on logical explanations.
Therefore, your knowledge of God depends on believing in him. - I'm not saying this, it's written in Vedic scriptures.
The root cause of any of your problems is that you are attached to it!
Don't you get it?! this means, you see the problem as a problem, that's why it is a problem for you.
When it was demonetization time in India, it was a problem for every one of us but for Shekhar Sharma (paytm's owner) it was an opportunity.
So, your way of looking at the problem decides if it is a problem or an opportunity!
Second example:
If you have been reading my posts, you might be knowing that I had stage fear. But when I changed my thoughts regarding it, I removed my stage fear completely.
Now, I will give you one exercise: just imagine that you are having no responsibilities, no relationships, no work to do or anything.
I know it is difficult, but at least try it once for yourself.
And give it your 100% attention or focus on this imagination.
Try to imagine:
"You're very far from your relations, you are completely free from your all the responsibilities, you don't have to do any work in your entire life, you are completely free, you have no single desire in your mind, you are alone in this entire world, you are sitting under a coconut tree at late evening at the beach and watching the waves of the sea water. The cold wind touches your body and the scenery of nature is giving you indescribable peace of mind. Wow! What happiness!"
Did you get temporary happiness from this mental exercise? If yes, that means you are now ready to understand your original self (Atman).
And if not, that means you have not used your imagination 100% efficiently and you will have to do it again if you want to get permanent happiness.
This exercise shows you that everything was as such. For example, if you were standing or sitting in your room, everything was the same including your life problems! But still, you got temporary happiness, right?
The reason is: "your attempt to think differently!" When you free yourself from these Materialistic responsibilities, relationships, jobs etc., you become detached from this Materialistic world. And exactly at that moment, you are your original self (at the moment of 'thoughtless state').
To be honest, our identification is done with our physical body. For example, if someone calls me by the name "Yagnesh", I (as a Yagnesh) will reply to him, "hey, what happened?", right?
Which is true.
But, who is that "Yagnesh"?
Is that "Yagnesh" the one whom you have been knowing as a "person (physical body)" or "personality (the personality that has been created based on his character)"?
Is that "Yagnesh" the "physical body" which replies to your questions or "the consciousness" that drives his physical body by pervading his body?
You might be thinking right now that the topic of discussion has been changed but, trust me, we are on the right way of knowing the truth. -- if you believe these words then only you will be able to reach the "truth".
So, Yagnesh is not whom you have been seeing or knowing till today!, it is his physical body which is given to him (his consciousness) through which he (has) had been/will be experiencing pain-pleasure in his life.
You are addressing the “Chaitanya Tattva (consciousness)” within the physical body of “Yagnesh” which you address by the name “Yagnesh”.
So, “Yagnesh” is the name given to the body in which a consciousness resides, so that if that name is uttered in a crowd of thousands, the same “Yagnesh” will pay attention to the caller! But we do not know that consciousness and that “ignorance” forces us to understand that this physical body itself is “Yagnesh”.
That's the reason why this "Yagnesh (consciousness)", because of his ignorance (that this physical body is myself), experiences pain whenever someone calls or addresses some words to him.
In fact, our physical body is made up of organs, each of which has its own specific function such as the function of the eyes is to see, the function of the ear is to hear, the function of the brain is to gather information with the help of logic and the mind, and the function of the heart is to operate the body and also to feel emotions.
You can never understand (only know) emotions with the brain, because understanding the emotion is a matter of the heart, trust is a matter of the heart, loving is a matter of the heart.
It has been my observation that when the mind is involved in each of these works described here, then all things ultimately lead to destruction. Because the mind will try to know the definition of love with the help of logic but the fact is that love is not something to know, love is something to feel. And feeling is a matter of the heart. So whenever any person involves 'mind' in love or marriage, he has to face many things like doubts, insecurities, jealousy etc. towards his partner.
And then pain starts coming into the life of those people because the mind got involved in it. Love was a matter of the heart and because our mind interfered in it, pain was born in that relationship. Now what is the solution to this question? There are many solutions, but if I am going to write all of them, a book will be written, so many perspectives can come out, but above all, if you think at the level of right knowledge, you will understand that the ignorance of being connected with this material world makes you feel sad.
You are attracted to someone because your body is made for that function, but your ignorance does not allow you to realize the limits and you too fall under that ignorance (i.e. fall under Maya) and become attracted to that person.
And then the mind, intellect and heart also have to do their work because the body has got organs to do their own work! So it will try to subjugate your mind and eventually you will see and feel things like doubts, insecurities, etc. with sorrow, as mentioned earlier.
Well, at the same time, if you think that you are not this “body assigned to you” but are “a consciousness”, then you will always be in a detached state, and even though you are in a physical body, you will constantly be in a state of detachment because of that thought.
Always believe in the knowledge that, “You are a consciousness which is so great and holy, that is complete within itself, that is immortal, that is all-pervading, that is within everyone and that is us” (I am not saying this, but it’s written in our great ancient scriptures {and I have experienced many things myself} Yajurveda 3.60.1, Brihadaranyka Upanishad 2.4.14, Mandukya Upanishad 1.1.8, Brahmanda Purana, Padma Purana, Shiva Purana, Vishnu Purana)
From the day you realize & know this fact, all material comforts and pains will become completely secondary for you and from that day both happiness and pain will be the same for you.
For now there is only one solution to all your questions, "Happiness or sorrow is a part of the film and you are only a character and you have to play your role and try to solve it without getting attached to your happiness or sorrow". Mentally, the day when you will give up every material thing/topic/situation, only then will you live in a world of happiness forever. Because, true happiness and joy lies in knowing & understanding yourself and not in the achievement of these material things. Because, whatever you will achieve in your life, you will always feel like you need something more! You will never be permanently happy!
You sleep at night everyday, it could have happened at least once in your dream that you would be standing on a tallest building and suddenly you fell down from that height and, even though you were dreaming, you felt the fear!
But as you opened your eyes & you realized another ignorance that, “oh thank god! I am safe now!". This feeling always forces you to believe the (false) reality that you are a physical body and not “consciousness”. But the reality is that whatever you experienced in your dream, that was also one of your experiences.
But, as soon as the eyes open, the consciousness affirming its existence in the physical body, your body's mind tells your intellect, "You are the body and you are lying here on the bed, this was a dream, forget it, you are safe now." So, whatever you saw, knew & (falsely) understood, so you believed (falsely) that, “you are the physical body & this only (physical) world is your world”.
Moral:
The solution to all your questions is to perform all the duties of the material world as a film character using your senses (keeping some factors in mind like right - wrong, ethics, limits, respect etc.) without any attachment or expectations. If you fall in love with someone, love with your heart, not with your mind. If you feel like someone has left you & you feel betrayal, that’s because of your mind. And that is the reason why you abuse the person after your breakup for whom you were showering praiseful words!
If you loved her, why did you keep expectations that she would always be with you only? And will never leave you? - she could be with you for life long but what after her death? She will definitely leave you at that time, won’t she? There is only difference between understanding and perception otherwise happiness-sorrows are just imaginary emotions for us!
You become happy when the sun provides you heat in winter. And you speak abusive words for the same sun in summer - that’s the nature of humans, selfishness. The winter sun warms you and the summer sun burns you. But you will never think “why?” you will only be selfish!
When you become self-centric, you use the brain, and when you use the brain, selfishness is born. Feelings like jealousy, expectations etc. are born in that selfishness. All these emotions make you feel pain from which the only eternal truth to escape from is the realization of the reality “You are not this body but a consciousness”.
And that understanding can come to you only when you surrender, i.e. trust the fact and try to experience it in the presence of a true Guru with the help of curiosity.
I hope you have trusted and tried to understand every word written here and I also pray to God that you get the solution to your questions very soon.
See you in the next blog, till then take care & be happy :)
