Do you know who you are?
You would say, “I am XYZ”
But by saying that, you are just pointing to your physical body, isn’t it?
If it is not so, where does your consciousness go in deep sleep?
When you sleep so deeply and I call your name, you would not reply, why?
Because you could be experiencing a different dimension of experience which we refer to as “Dream” right?
Hence, we do not know our original selves!
We believe strongly (and falsely) that “we are only this physical body”
But, this physical body is a “matter” and everything you can see or touch is also a “matter”, isn’t it? And, if all of these are a “matter”, why can they not think or take action by themselves?
That means we are not this physical body.
We are something else.
But what?
To understand that, let’s perform an exercise.
So, you are reading these words right now, am I right?
Now, try to observe yourself that you are reading it and you are also aware of the action you are taking right now (both together). If you can do this, trust me, you are living as a two-person (physical body as a subject and as an observer residing in your body).
And, at this time, you are eligible to know your original self!
If not, try another exercise:
Try to remember that every day you go to sleep at night, at that time, as soon as you close your eyes, you are not seeing the external world but just darkness.
There will be only a dark black color and nothing will be there, right?
That means, now, you have moved your awareness from one dimension to another.
But which dimension?
The dimension of the Subtle Body (Shukshma Sharir).
But how?
Our experiences of the physical world are only by the six senses (touch, sight, hearing, smell, taste, and mind).
From which the mind is the superior sense and that controls all the others. (Example of the statement: If you see your loved one in pain, you will also feel their pain. Hence, your senses gathered information, your mind analyzed it and your body reacted towards it.) Now as soon as you restrict your senses, your mind will direct your awareness into the subtle world.
But, what is a subtle world?
The subtle world is composed of thoughts, mind, prana, and many other things. The imagination you experience is also a part of the subtle world.
The P-forp (‘A technique of manifestation and place of practice’ – that I have described in my previous articles and many books) is also part of the subtle world.
When you dream, your dream is also part of the subtle world. And there are many other things in the subtle world, for which to understand, you will need to understand the composition of the human body. In material and medical science, we just only learn that we are made of organs and tissues. But actually, that is the definition of the physical human body. If I ask, what are your thoughts made of? Science will never have the answer! Hence, we need to understand the concept of three bodies i.e. Gross body, Sutble body, and Causal body.
So, we have three bodies.
If I ask you, who are you?
You will always point your finger to your body and say your name loudly that, “This is me, XYZ”!
But that’s the wrong definition, because, if it is true, why after your death, they burn your body? Hence, you are not the body. Then who you are?
You are a consciousness (a part or fragment of the supreme consciousness).
And, you reside in the Causal Body.
When you sleep at night, your awareness goes to the subtle body where you experience many different things like “imagination”, “dream”, “P-forp”, and many other things.
After a certain point, your awareness becomes unaware! I mean, after a certain time, you become unconscious about your body.
At that time, you move to the causal body. Where you (consciousness) get your original form i.e. unmanifested form of consciousness. But, the problem is that you are not aware of that form in that condition (and that is why taking birth infinite times in different yonis - but not now!). And that is what an enlightened being gets. I mean, a true Yogi (enlightened being) can become aware of his own consciousness even in a causal body!
We get human life only to understand our original self and to return to our home (supreme consciousness). But we are getting deluded by the Yogic Maya (magical illusion) of the material world which deceives our minds. And, our minds deceive our experiences and analysis. Even after reading these facts, logical-minded people will doubt it and try to prove it wrong because they have never experienced whatever is mentioned here.
I and you cannot even imagine this state of being conscious in a causal body! Because we are always living in either the past or the future! We (sometimes) experience the present moment!
So, we will have to become curious to know about our original selves and then ask ourselves about it. Also, try both the methods I described above and I am sure that you will definitely experience becoming an observer. And, you will meet yourself for sure.
I have written all these concepts in deep and also I have answered many different and deep questions in this book: What do you really need in your life?
Do you know that the time is steady? It is we who experience or perceive the time as a past or future! Otherwise, the time is steady. It is only the present that exists forever.
Confused?
See you in the next article then!
I will explain to you about the time.
